BIM projects contain a lot of data. Geometry data describing the 3D model and alphanumeric data for all the properties of all the construction elements.

BIM-and is designed to focus on these alphanumeric data and allows to

• specify access control, on a per value level
• provides a historical view to the stored data
• access alphanumeric data by selecting elements in the 3D model
• filter elements by alphanumeric values
• store applied filters for later use
• …

BIM-and uses IFC files that have been uploaded to a bimserver, imports their alphanumeric data into a separate Database, assigns user permissions to these data and links them to the original bimserver 3D model.

This approach brings the following advantages:

• limited number of users that are allowed to access the bimserver directly
• fine grained user permissions - down to each single value - in a UNIX like rwx fashion
• users belong to groups
• permissions for owners, groups and 'others'
• store modifications of data and provide access to historic data
• export selected data to XLSX files
